Biennale de Venezia – Christy Ferer Travels to Venice

06-03_fullVidicom’s CEO Christy Ferer’s bags are packed, my ticket’s lined up, and I’m waiting for the 28th to fly off to Venice for this year’s Biennale de Venezia, a yearly art celebration.

I’m especially excited to visit this year to visit my good friend Cindy Sherman’s curatorial project — a show within the show, made up of over two hundred works by more than thirty artists. Dolls, puppets, mannequins, and idols cohabit with photos, paintings, sculptures, religious insignia, and drawings by prison inmates, which together compose an anatomical theater in which to contemplate the role of images in the representation and perception of the self.

Is anyone else headed to Venice? Hope to see you there!

Vidicom’s Christy Ferer Attends 92nd Street Y Spring Gala

Last night was one of Vidicom CEO Christy Ferer’s favorite events of the year: the annual spring gals for the 92nd Street Y. As a member of the Board of Directors, Christy takes a profound interest in the initiatives of the Y and the good that it does for the community.

Last night’s event was an absolute smash. Christy arrived at dinner and mingled with some friends and influential New Yorkers, and then enjoyed a performance by Grammy Award winner Jennifer Hudson.

The 92nd Street Y really is a great program, and it’s powered entirely by donations. Looking for a great cause to support? Click here to learn more now.

Brompton Folding Bicycles

brompton-gefaltetVidicom’s CEO Christy Ferer has a new obsession: Brompton Folding Bicycles!

They’re such a fun and stylish way to get around New York, and you don’t have to worry about locking it – just fold it up and bring it inside! Christy Ferer’s close friend Cindy Sherman initially turned me onto them. Once Christy Ferer learned about them, she started seeing them everywhere. Isn’t it funny how that happens?

Check out the link below to learn more about these awesome bicycles!

Bette Midler in “I’ll Eat You Last!”

eatyoulastBette Middler is Vidicom CEO Christy Ferer’s old friend, and her new play, I’ll Eat You Last, is a hilarious take on the late Hollywood super-agent Sue Mengers.

Personally, Christy Ferer feel that Bette was robbed when she didn’t receive a Tony nomination for best actress. Then again, Fiona Shaw wasn’t nominated for Best Actress for her performance in Testament of Mary, but at least the play was nominated for an award. Bette’s play didn’t receive a single nomination!
